Camper Vans & Adventure Trucks: Built for the Open Road
Context
Tommy Camper Vans is a premium vehicle conversion company specializing in turning Sprinter vans and trucks into luxury homes-on-wheels. The goal was to build a comprehensive e-commerce and gallery platform using WordPress and Elementor that showcases their superior craftsmanship and “Designed for Living” philosophy. The site serves as a portal for high-ticket sales, rentals, and custom build consultations for the nomadic lifestyle community.

Overview
The website is a visual-heavy experience that highlights custom interior builds—from full kitchens to off-grid electrical systems. I developed a structured layout that allows users to explore “Build,” “Shop,” and “Rent” categories seamlessly. Key features include an extensive project gallery, a “Win a Van” conversion contest integration, a detailed FAQ section for technical queries, and a direct lead-capture system for custom build quotes. The design uses earthy tones and high-resolution photography to evoke a sense of freedom and adventure.
Challenge
Selling custom van builds (which are high-value investments) requires an immense amount of consumer trust and technical clarity. The challenge was to organize a massive amount of visual content (dozens of interior/exterior photos) without affecting the site’s loading performance. I also had to create a navigation system that clearly separates their different business models: selling pre-built vans, taking custom orders, and managing rentals. Communicating the “Superior Craftsmanship” through a screen meant every design element had to look as polished as the vans themselves.
Solution
I implemented a modular, masonry-style gallery to showcase various van layouts, allowing users to see the intricate details of the craftsmanship. To manage the complex service offerings, I designed a “Start Here” section that acts as a traffic controller for Build, Shop, and Rent funnels. I integrated dynamic content blocks for customer testimonials and FAQ accordions to address technical concerns (like insulation and solar power) upfront. For performance, I used aggressive image lazy-loading and WebP conversion to ensure the cinematic experience remains fast and fluid on mobile devices, where most “van-life” enthusiasts browse.
Results
The final platform is a high-converting, adventurous digital experience that has become the central hub for Tommy Camper Vans’ operations. The streamlined “Build” inquiry process has led to higher quality leads and better customer onboarding. By balancing rugged outdoor aesthetics with a clean, professional e-commerce backend
the site has successfully positioned the brand as a leader in the luxury van conversion market, driving both local and national sales growth.
